Embxrs Album Cover

Abi, from Lincoln indie rock band Embxrs, was looking for artwork for their new single, Gas Lit. The starting point was a series of ideas around faces, masks and the feeling of hiding behind something.

The concept developed through different interpretations of that idea, from comedy and tragedy masks to figures holding masks in front of their faces. Once Abi chose her favourite direction, the artwork was pushed further through bold black and white against fiery colour, reflecting the emotion running through the song.

The final design leans into emotional storytelling, negative space and bold contrast, creating artwork that feels closely connected to the track itself.

The artwork was used across social media and Spotify to promote the release.
